Up for sale is my 1991 Volkswagen Vanagon Carat. It has just under 160,000 miles on it which is pretty low for a 31 year old vehicle and is in very nice overall condition for it's age. As far as I can tell, it still has all of the original Bordeaux red paint. There are a couple of small dings and dents and the clear coat on the roof is fading but there isn't any signs of accident damage. It has typical vanagon rust bubbles at the bottom of the windshield (pictured). The previous owner had a rust preventative chemical put on when the windshield was replaced a couple of years ago and it looks like it's holding up. That's the only real rust I've seen on it. Being a Carat, it came with five spoke alloy wheels and ground effects which are all still present. The interior is in pretty good shape too. It has all of the curtains, the table, rear facing jump seats, mattress and front seat armrests. The power windows, locks, mirrors and seat work well as does the front and rear heat. The front power window motors were just reaplced. It has an aftermarket stereo with bluetooth. The A/C doesn't blow all the components are there so I assume it needs a recharge or something.
Mechanically, it has a 2.1 liter fuel injected four cylinder engine and a three speed automatic trans. It's a nice running and driving van. It recently had the spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, air filter, fuel filter, battery, front brake rotors and pads. It also has aftermarket stainless brake hoses.
Overall this Vanagon is a pretty nice, original example from the last year that they were made. It's definitely not a perfect car, just a nice survivor. I have a clear Colorado title in my name. Feel free to ask any questions. Thanks!
