    Description

    The Selkirk Rex is a breed of cat with highly curled hair that originated in the state of Montana in 1987. The original Selkirk Rex was a kitten born to a rescue cat and was named Miss DePesto. She was bred with a Persian male and her first litter had three Selkirk Rex kittens. All Selkirk Rex cats that followed are descendants of Miss DePesto. The Selkirk Cat is featured on the 27th annual cat crown issued by the Isle of Man.
