A caved ’Shallow Basket’ Duan Inkstone by Gu Erniang, Qing Dynasty, Kangxi Period
The stone is firm and dense, warm and delicate. The entire back of the inkstone is carved in the shape of a bamboo basket, and the bamboo gabions of the basket are carved in a very realistic way, with a sense of layering and three-dimensionality, just like a real bamboo basket. The inkstone is very delicate and exquisite, and can be used to write small letters with ink. A Hongmu box and cover are fitted.
Size: 4 1/2 in. (11.5 cm.) Diameter
Condition: Item is in excellent condition as shown in pictures except chips at sides.
