One-time complete antique ink box with 10 coloured ink stones
in original fabric covered box.
Inscription: Made by Heian Yoko-do "furnance
".
Chinese, early 20th century, maby even earlier. Inside 10 cut-outs in the outlines of the 10 inkstones, in which they lie well protected. Each stone has a different
shape. On the front fine reliefs of wise men and scholars with their attributes. Slightly faded gold decoration.
On the backside assigned poems and wisdoms. Lid closed on the left with classic eyelet toggle closure,
the toggles in leg. For an antique piece with such delicate parts the condition is excellent. Minimal
crumbling on some of the unused ink.
Absolute collector's item.
