a really "cool" old,
glazed stoneware
, antique bottle (
estimated early to mid 19th century....maybe earlier?
) J.S. Williams and Son...Distillers of

This bottle probably found it's way to the

S
A
through the export market of the times.
The bottle is over-glazed and shows fine,
spider-webb glaze crazing
, and small pin-prick pot stones in the glaze (see especially pic 4) The bottle is rough and crude underneath (pic 8) and is typical of the two-tone coloring of old stoneware with dark brown on top and cream/beige on the bottom. There are a couple of glaze-misses (see pic 5) which adds to the crudeness appeal and authenticity! The bottle is quite heavy and weighs in at almost 2 1/2 lbs and stands 10 1/4" tall and 5 1/4" across. (see size comparison with a

in last pic)  THE BOTTLE IS EMPTY!
Just a super wine/spirits collectible which is probably scarce to rare. Probably not many who have this wine bottle in their collections!
