    Description

Bahamas 5 Dollars, 2020, B351a, PNEW (Whitfield; Junkanoo dancers) | UNC
Really excited to be able to offer this stunningly beautiful banknote, which until very recently has been incredibly difficult to find, selling on eBay for as high as 9 just a few months ago!
This is definitely my favorite banknote of the new Bahamian series, which they call the
CRISP (Counterfeit Resistant Integrated Security Product) Evolution Series. Such a colorful and formerly scarce note! Check out my other Bahamian notes, both from this series, and also the 1992 Columbus Quincentennial Commemorative.
Issuing Authority:  Central Bank of the Bahamas
    Series:  2016–2021 CRISP Evolution Issues
    Year:  2020
    Signature:  6. Rolle
    TBB:  B351a
    Pick:  PNew
    Substrate:  Composite
    Size:  156 x 67 mm
Color(s):  Yellow, Red, Lilac, Green, Blue
    Printer:  Orell Fussli, Zurich
Predominantly yellow with shades of red, lilac, green, and blue, the banknote measures 156 mm long and 67 mm wide bearing on the front a portrait of Sir Cecil Wallace-Whitfield, the series, and the signature of the Governor of the Central Bank of The Bahamas, together with the words “Central Bank of The Bahamas. These notes are legal tender under the Central Bank of The Bahamas Act 2000 for the payment of any amount Five Dollars”. A watermark of Sir Cecil Wallace-Whitfield and the numeral , a replica map of the Islands of The Bahamas, and the denominational value in words and figures appear on the left, with an image of a hibiscus flower in the center.
The back features Bahamian Artist Delton Barrett’s likeness of a Junkanoo cowbeller in full costume, with accompanying junkanooers adjacent. The numeral appears in the upper left and lower right corners, while the words “Five Dollars” are in the upper right quadrant. Just below the cowbeller is the Coat of Arms of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas along with the words “Central Bank of The Bahamas”.
    Condition
    Crisp UNC uncirculated condition.
Many modern notes have a security thread that may show some bubbling, or a dimple, at the top of the note at the strip. In the printing process, when the notes are run through high speed counters, a dimple is created where the strip is on the top of the note (sometimes called a counting tick). This does not disqualify the note as UNC.
