I think this is a Chinese Ink Stone made for export. Likely around 1920-1940. What I've been able to decipher is Donglinlian Society Ink Stone on the box as well as on the stone. The Stone itself I believe to be Oil Soot. There appears to have been gilding on it at some point, most of which is worn. The included box is old, with spots and fading.
