    For sale here is an early, antique, blown in mold, aqua, embossed, square shape, cork top, root beer extract bottle from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The bottle is embossed HIRES / HOUSEHOLD EXTRACT on side one, PHILADELPHIA, PA. / U.S.A. on side two, MANUFACTURED BY / THE CHARLES E. HIRES CO. on side three, and FOR BREWING / ROOT BEER / AT HOME on side four. Most of them say “For Making” instead of For Brewing; this style is older. Likely dates to around 1900. Just over 4.25 inches tall. No major issues. One tiny lip nick. Heavy stain and haze from being dug. Please review photos before bidding/purchasing.
